Get involved with 425 Tutoring
Two ways to be part of it: sign your child up for free tutoring, or volunteer your time as a tutor.
Students & parents
Register for free online tutoring and we’ll pair your child with a tutor who fits their needs as soon as possible.
- Free, and always has been. No cost, no catch, and nothing to cancel.
- A small group, not a lecture. Up to four students, matched on what your child needs and on the times you’re actually free.
- An hour, once or twice a week, in eight-week cycles. At the end of a cycle you decide whether to carry on.
- Math and English, plus help with homework and class assignments.
Future tutors
Are you a high-school student who wants to make a difference? Apply to volunteer, and an executive officer will reach out with next steps.
- Community service hours. We log every session you teach and can certify your total, so your hours are documented rather than remembered.
- A real interview. You’ll teach a short lesson to one of our officers. We give you the grade and subject in advance, both taken from what you told us you want to teach.
- The commitment. One or two sessions a week, an hour each, in eight-week cycles, with a small group of up to four students. All online.
- Real teaching experience. Your own group, your own lesson plans, and a reference from us once you’ve completed a cycle.
